What is spatial (3D / 8D / binaural) audio?
Spatial audio uses HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function) processing to make sound appear to come from any direction—left, right, front, or behind—when listening with headphones. "8D audio" popular on YouTube and TikTok is a style where music orbits around the listener, while ASMR creators use binaural placement such as whispering near the left ear.
