Headphone Test lets you check a new pair of earphones or the condition of your current headphones entirely in the browser. No app installation or test file downloads—every test tone is generated in real time with the Web Audio API.

The stereo test plays sound from the left only, right only, or both, instantly revealing broken cables or reversed wearing. The frequency range test steps through 17 frequencies from 20 Hz to 20 kHz so you can find the limits of your ears and your gear, and a continuous low-to-high sweep is also available. The phase check compares in-phase and inverted noise to detect wiring faults that make audio sound hollow.

The HRTF 3D positional test plays sounds from 8 directions—front, back, left, right, and diagonals—useful for checking footstep positioning in FPS games or surround feel for movies. Great for pre-review checks, tracking changes in your high-frequency hearing, and verifying both sides of Bluetooth earphones connect correctly.

How to use Headphone Test

Put on your earphones or headphones and set the volume low (recommended before high/low frequency tests).
Use the Left / Right / Both buttons to verify channels. If sound comes from the opposite side, you are wearing them backwards.
Run the frequency range test from low to high tones and note what you can hear. The sweep plays a continuously rising tone.
Try the 3D test with sounds from 8 directions, and compare in-phase vs inverted noise in the phase check.
