このツールは「アンシャープマスク（Unsharp Mask）」と呼ばれる手法を採用しています。これは画像処理の世界で長年使われてきた定番アルゴリズムで、元画像からぼかしたコピーを引き算することで輪郭部分を強調します。具体的には 3×3 のコンボリューションカーネルを画像全体に適用し、各ピクセルの周辺ピクセルとの差分を強調することで、エッジ（輪郭）の鮮明さを高めます。
強度スライダー（0〜200%）を動かすだけでリアルタイムにプレビューが更新されるため、やり過ぎによる不自然なノイズが出る前に最適な値を探せます。処理はすべてクライアント側の Canvas API で完結しており、画像データがサーバーに送信されることはありません。機密性の高い社内文書の写真や個人の写真も安心して使用できます。
PNG・JPEG・WebP の入力に対応しており、同じ形式で書き出せます。ブログ記事のアイキャッチ画像、EC サイトの商品写真、プレゼン資料のスクリーンショットなど、幅広い用途で活用できます。
A photo taken on the go can turn out slightly blurry. A scanned document may have soft edges. An image upscaled from a small original can look fuzzy. In all these cases, image sharpening is a practical fix.
This tool uses the unsharp-mask technique — one of the most widely used sharpening algorithms in image processing. Despite the counterintuitive name, unsharp masking works by subtracting a blurred version of the image from itself to amplify edge contrast. Technically, it applies a 3×3 convolution kernel across every pixel, weighting the center pixel more heavily than its neighbors to accentuate transitions between light and dark areas.
You control the intensity with a slider from 0% (no effect) to 200% (aggressive sharpening). The real-time Canvas preview updates instantly as you drag, so you can find the sweet spot before over-sharpening introduces unwanted ringing artifacts. All processing runs locally via the Canvas API — no image data is ever sent to a server, making the tool safe for confidential or sensitive images.
Supports PNG, JPEG, and WebP input, and exports in the matching format. Useful for blog post thumbnails, product photos on e-commerce sites, screenshots in presentations, and any image that needs a quick clarity boost.
