About CIDR to IP Range
CIDR to IP Range Calculator turns IPv4 CIDR notation into practical subnet details. Enter a block such as 192.168.10.0/24 and get the network address, broadcast address, subnet mask, wildcard mask, usable host range, total address count, and normalized CIDR notation. A /24 block means that the first 24 bits are the network portion, leaving 8 bits for addresses inside that subnet.
It is useful for ACLs, VPNs, firewall rules, AWS and GCP security group planning, monitoring setup, subnet design, and networking study. Before opening an IP range in a firewall or documenting a private subnet, you can paste the CIDR block and confirm exactly which first and last addresses are included.
The calculator follows the implementation used by the tool: prefixes /0 through /30 reserve the network and broadcast addresses when reporting usable hosts, while /31 and /32 keep the full range as usable because those edge cases are commonly used for point-to-point links or single-host entries. This makes the output easier to compare with firewall allowlists and cloud console CIDR fields.
Results can be copied from the cards for network address, broadcast address, first usable IP, last usable IP, subnet mask, wildcard mask, and normalized CIDR notation. This is faster than manually converting between binary masks, dotted decimal masks, and host ranges when you only need a reliable check before a change request.
Everything runs locally in your browser, so your text, numbers, or files are not uploaded to a server. No account is required, and the tool is free to use on desktop or mobile.
How to use CIDR to IP Range
- Enter an IPv4 CIDR block.
- Review network, broadcast, mask, wildcard mask, usable host range, and address counts.
- Check /31 and /32 results carefully when you are documenting point-to-point or single-host rules.
- Copy the values into ACLs, VPN settings, firewall rules, cloud security groups, or network documentation.
Benefits of CIDR to IP Range
- Combines CIDR, IP range, and subnet mask lookups into one practical result panel.
- Useful before ACL, firewall, AWS, or GCP security group changes, including edge cases such as /31 and /32.
- Works in the browser when command-line subnet tools are unavailable.
