About Markdown Table Generator

The Markdown Table Generator is a tool that lets you easily create Markdown-formatted tables used in GitHub READMEs, documentation, and blog posts through a visual grid interface. You do not need to memorize Markdown table syntax — simply enter values into cells like a spreadsheet, and the correct Markdown is generated automatically.

You can set text alignment (left, center, right) per column. CSV or TSV data can be pasted into a text area to auto-populate the grid. The tool also supports JSON format import and export, allowing you to transform API responses and database query results directly into tables.

The generated Markdown is previewed in real time and can be copied to the clipboard with one click. HTML export is also available for web content creation. Everything runs in your browser, so no data is sent to any server.

How to use Markdown Table Generator

  1. Set the grid size by specifying the number of rows and columns, or use the +/- buttons to adjust.
  2. Enter text in the header row and data rows. Select alignment per column using the L (left), C (center), and R (right) buttons.
  3. If you have existing CSV or TSV data, paste it into the 'CSV/TSV Import' area to auto-populate the grid. JSON format data can be imported using the 'JSON Import' area.
  4. Switch output format using the tabs at the top (Markdown/HTML/JSON). The default format is Markdown.
  5. The generated table is displayed in real time at the bottom. Click the 'Copy' button to copy it to your clipboard and paste it wherever you need.
