Word Counter is a browser-based text statistics tool for checking characters, words, lines, and paragraphs while you write or edit. It is useful for blog posts, SEO drafts, social media copy, school reports, manuscript submissions, email drafts, and any writing task where length matters.

The dashboard shows total characters, characters without spaces, word count for space-separated languages, line count, paragraph count, UTF-8 byte size, 400-character manuscript page equivalents, and estimated reading time. Character totals count surrogate pairs such as emoji as one character, which is closer to how users perceive typed text than raw JavaScript UTF-16 length. Reading time is a simple estimate based on 300 Japanese characters per minute and 200 English words per minute, so formal submission rules should still be checked against the destination's own requirements.
