Image Depth Map Maker creates grayscale PNGs that represent a near-to-far relationship from a photo or illustration. It is not a strict 3D reconstruction model like dedicated AI depth-estimation systems. Instead, it is a fast browser-only composition-based approximation. It combines vertical perspective, brightness, saturation, and local detail to create a depth-style reference.

It works especially well on streets, roads, landscapes, buildings, and other images with clear perspective. By default, near areas are brighter and distant areas are darker. Lowering the depth-direction setting gives brightness and image detail more influence, increasing contrast makes the map more distinct, and increasing smoothing creates broader gradients that are easier to use as reference material.

A processed anime-style town sample loads automatically on first view, so users can understand the output before choosing their own image. All processing happens locally in the browser without uploading the image to an external server.
