This tool converts photographs into pencil sketch-style artwork using digital image processing techniques. By combining grayscale conversion, pixel inversion, Gaussian blur, and color dodge blending, it creates a realistic hand-drawn pencil effect.
The algorithm works by first converting the image to grayscale, then inverting the pixel values. A Gaussian blur is applied to the inverted image, and finally the original grayscale and blurred-inverted layers are combined using a color dodge blend. This produces a pencil drawing effect where edges and contours become visible strokes.
The blur radius slider lets you control the character of the sketch: lower values produce fine, detailed lines while higher values create broader, softer strokes.
