Text to PDF

Text to PDF is a browser-based utility for turning plain text into a simple downloadable PDF document without opening a word processor or desktop publishing tool. It is useful for quick notes, meeting summaries, process instructions, draft copy, internal documentation, and plain-text handouts that need a portable file format. The tool uses pdf-lib on the client side, so the document is generated directly in the browser and can be saved immediately after you review the settings.

You can choose between A4 and Letter page presets and adjust the font size between 10 and 20 points. The line spacing can be set to "Compact," "Normal," or "Spacious" depending on the density you prefer. An estimated page count displayed in real time helps you decide on layout settings quickly without guessing. The generated PDF filename is based on your text's first line, so you get a sensible default name automatically.

To keep the implementation dependable with the built-in Helvetica font, the generator is intentionally limited to printable ASCII text. Japanese characters, emoji, and other non-ASCII characters are flagged before export because they cannot be embedded safely with the standard font alone. This keeps the workflow clear, predictable, and practical for lightweight text-only PDFs.
