About Kaup Index Calculator
The Kaup Index is a body mass index used to evaluate the growth status of infants and young children (ages 3 months to 5 years). It is calculated using the formula: weight(g) ÷ height(cm)² × 10.
While similar to the adult BMI, the Kaup Index uses classification thresholds specifically designed for young children. General guidelines are as follows: - Below 13: Severely Underweight - 13–15: Slightly Underweight - 15–18: Normal - 18–20: Slightly Overweight - Above 20: Overweight
