The Maternity Leave Pay Calculator is an online tool that computes estimated maternity allowance (Shussan Teatekin), childcare leave benefits (Ikuji Kyugyo Kyufukin), and social insurance premium savings by entering your due date and monthly salary.

Maternity allowance covers 98 days (42 days prenatal + 56 days postnatal) at two-thirds of your standard daily remuneration. Childcare leave benefits are calculated at 67% of daily wages for the first 180 days and 50% thereafter, with upper and lower limits automatically applied. You can set childcare leave for up to 24 months, accommodating extensions when daycare is unavailable.

The calculator also supports partner post-birth paternity leave benefits, allowing you to consolidate multiple income protection schemes in a single simulation. During maternity and childcare leave, health insurance and pension premiums are exempt — the tool estimates these savings too.
