Seimei Handan (Japanese name fortune telling) is a traditional Japanese divination method that uses the stroke counts of kanji characters in a name as a cultural reference. It analyzes five numerical grids (Gokaku): Tenkaku, Jinkaku, Chikaku, Gaikaku, and Soukaku. The result is a reference from one fortune-telling system, not a guarantee of personality, future outcomes, or life events.

Tenkaku (Heaven Grid) is the total strokes of the family name. Jinkaku (Person Grid) combines the last family-name character and the first given-name character. Chikaku (Earth Grid) is the total strokes of the given name. Gaikaku (Outer Grid) is total strokes minus Jinkaku. Soukaku (Total Grid) is the sum of all strokes in the full name. This tool displays both the stroke breakdown and the five-grid ratings so you can see how each character affects the result.

The tool automatically looks up kanji stroke counts from a built-in dictionary. Unknown or rare kanji can be entered manually with custom stroke counts. Stroke-count rules may differ by old forms, variant characters, and schools of interpretation, so use the result as a reference and confirm the preferred rule set when a formal name decision matters.
